Hi! I’m Annemieke. A year ago, I decided to start making all my clothes myself. On this blog I tell you all about this adventure and the fun (and sometimes struggles) this brings me.

How it all began

A year ago I decided to stop buying clothes. My closet was full of bargains I picked up at the big High Street shops. I knew in the back of my head that ‘made in Bangladesh’ probably meant ‘made by a child in a sweatshop’, but I never allowed myself to think about that too much.

The collapse of the Rana Plaza factory plant in Bangladesh was the turning point for me. I wanted to improve my dressmaking skills and investigate how the fashion chain works.

And so, all-or-nothing-person as I am, I decided never to buy clothes again. I wear at least one ‘me-made’ item a day, and aim to have an entire closet filled with my own designs
